Get rent money back, repairs ordered or your tenant rights enforced against your landlord: an application to the Landlord and Tenant Board (fee waiver if low income)

What you get

Ontario's tribunal for disputes between landlords and tenants under the Residential Tenancies Act. A tenant whose rights were interfered with by the landlord can file an Application about Tenant Rights (T2); for money the landlord owes, such as a rent deposit not returned, a Tenant Application for a Rebate (T1); for repairs not done, a Tenant Application about Maintenance (T6). File online through the Tribunals Ontario Portal, by mail or courier to an LTB office, or in person at some ServiceOntario centres. The tenant application fee is $53, or $48 through the portal; if your household income is below the Board's threshold or comes mainly from income support, attach a Fee Waiver Request to the front of the application.
