Canadian Benefit for Parents of Young Victims of Crime is a program run by Employment and Social Development Canada that gives up to $500 a week to parents and legal guardians whose child under 25 died or has been missing for more than a week because of a probable Criminal Code offence in Canada on or after September 30, 2018. Money for a parent or legal guardian who takes time off work after their child died or went missing because of a probable crime in Canada. It pays $500 a week, paid every 2 weeks, for up to 35 weeks within 3 years. If more than one parent applies, the 35 weeks are shared.
