A non-refundable tax credit that lowers income tax for a person with a disability or the family member who supports them, and approval is the key that opens the Canada Disability Benefit, the child disability benefit, the Registered Disability Savings Plan and the Canada workers benefit disability supplement.

- Their stepsFill out Part A yourself (or your legal representative does), online in CRA My Account or on paper Form T2201. Ask a medical practitioner to fill out and certify Part B; they can send it to the CRA digitally. If you use paper, mail Parts A and B together to one of the tax centres listed on the How to apply page (Jonquiere, Sudbury or Winnipeg); do not send DTC forms through Submit documents in your CRA account. Once approved, apply for the Canada Disability Benefit and other programs the credit opens.
