What you get
Ombudsman Toronto helps resolve complaints from people who feel they were treated unfairly or got unfair service from the City. It oversees all City of Toronto divisions and most of its agencies, boards and corporations, including Toronto Community Housing, Toronto Seniors Housing, the City-run housing waitlists, emergency shelters and the administration of Ontario Works benefits. It is an office of last resort: first raise the complaint with the City division, agency or corporation and take it to the City's final answer; then complain by the online form, email, phone, relay service, fax, mail or a booked visit. When its review is done it explains its findings, actions and recommendations. Free, independent and confidential; another person can complain for you with your permission.
