If you are eligible for Ontario Works, you receive a monthly payment made of basic needs and a shelter allowance. The amount you can receive is $733 a month and may be adjusted based on your situation. Basic needs help with food, clothing and other personal items. You can apply online, by phone or at your local Ontario Works office.
